Loch Maree is imo one of the most beautiful lochs in Scotland, both from a scenic but also from a wildlife point of view. The shores of this 20km long loch that stretches roughly from Kinlochewe to Poolewe in Wester Ross are home to remains of the ancient Caledonian Forest. It is here that you will find some of the most beautiful Scots Pines in Scotland, some are over 350 years old.
